VIA -MYFOXNY "A Poughkeepsie, N.Y. police officer was shot and a suspect killed in a shootout on Friday afternoon. Three other police officers were also hurt.
Mayor John C. Tkazyik says the incident took place around 1 p.m. near the city's train station on lower Main Street.
The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that the injured officers were taken to Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Due to the investigation of the active crime scene, City of Poughkeepsie Police have closed Main Street from Route 44/55 to the Hudson River.
