Happy Birthday Obama!!!: 50 and Still the Youngest Candidate in the Campaign
"In every general election campaign he has waged, Barack Obama has been the youngest contender on the ballot. He turns 50 tomorrow (8/4/11) and the streak appears safe.
In the 2012 presidential campaign, Obama is likely to still be the youngest candidate in the field as all of the Republican challengers who have announced a bid for their party’s nomination are older than he is.
As he did in 2008, when national exit polls showed him winning 66 percent of voters under age 30, Obama probably will try to make his age an asset when he runs for re-election.
“For all of his youth, he’s grayer and his wrinkles are deeper,” said Bruce Buchanan, a presidential scholar at the University of Texas at Austin. “Given the rigors of that job, youth can be an advantage.”
Obama is celebrating his birthday tonight, a day in advance, in his adopted hometown of Chicago with a campaign fundraiser that will feature fellow Chicagoans jazz pianist Herbie Hancock and singer Jennifer Hudson." - read more - via Bloomberg

Obama Kills Osama, Americans Take to the Streets (video)
The most prominent face of terror in America and beyond, Osama Bin Laden, has been killed in Pakistan, U.S. officials said Sunday night.
Bin Laden was the leader of al Qaeda, the terrorist network behind the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States. U.S. officials said that their forces have the body of bin Laden.
The enormity of the destruction -- the World Trade Center's towers devastated by two hijacked airplanes, the Pentagon partially destroyed by a third hijacked jetliner, a fourth flight crashed in rural Pennsylvania, and more than 3,000 people killed -- gave bin Laden a global presence.
The Saudi-born zealot commanded an organization run like a rogue multinational firm, experts said, with subsidiaries operating secretly in dozens of countries, plotting terror, raising money and recruiting young Muslim men -- even boys -- from many nations to its training camps in Afghanistan.
He used the fruits of his family's success -- a personal fortune estimated in the hundreds of millions of dollars -- to help finance al Qaeda in its quest for a new pan-Islamic religious state. How much bin Laden got in the settlement of the family estate is still a matter of contention. Estimates range from tens of millions to hundreds of millions. Read More: via CNN
Donald Trump Booed Upon Arrival to White House
"President Obama and Seth Meyers weren't the only ones taking shots at Donald Trump Saturday night at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
The Donald was booed by people behind the press line upon his arrival at the Hilton Hotel where the A-list dinner was held, according to videos of the red carpet.
Trump, who was a guest of the Washington Post, waved off the hecklers seemingly unfazed, his wife Melania close by.
The real estate mogul has made headlines recently by flirting with a run for President and fanning flames of the so-called birther movement. Many observers believe that his outspoken questioning of the President's birthplace led the commander-in-chief to release his full form birth certificate last week.
Trump apparently assumed he wouldn't be turned into a punch line at the Correspondents Dinner, telling ABC News beforehand he doubted he would be the subject of many jokes.
"I wouldn't think [Obama] would address me [during his speech]," he predicted.
But as he stoically sat while most of the night's highlights were zingers at him, Trump was proven remarkably wrong – much to the delight of many attendees." Read More -via NY Daily News

Shots Fired!: Bill Cosby tells Donald Trump "Shut up"
Bill Cosby appeared on the “Today” show this morning and was visibly upset with Donald Trump, whose segment had just aired before in which he claimed he had investigators in Hawaii looking into Obama’s childhood history.
“Oh please with Donald Trump. Take him home with you,” Cosby said. “He’s full of it … you run or shut up ... The only thing he is running is his mouth.”
When Vieira followed up and asked Cosby about Trump running, he exclaimed: “I don’t care!”

I Don't Get a Check?!?!?!: Gov't Shutdown Impact On New York
"The clock is ticking toward a midnight Friday deadline to reach an agreement on a federal budget. The impact of a government shutdown will be widespread and would affect social security services, tax returns, passport applications, food stamps and access to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Republicans battling with President Barack Obama over budget cuts plan to hold a House vote Thursday on one-week legislation to avoid a government shutdown, despite opposition from the White House and Senate Democrats pressing for a longer-term solution.
The party leaders debated as the clock ticked toward a midnight Friday deadline. Even a brief shutdown could affect a wide range of Americans, from troops fighting abroad to tourists planning trips to national parks. Read More
