Both Sides Have Families: Two Miami Cops Shot While Making Arrest

"A Miami-Dade police officer was killed and another is undergoing surgery after a shooting erupted when they tried to serve a warrant for a violent fugitive Thursday morning.
The dead officer was identified as Roger Castillo. Details were unclear, but two suspects apparently were killed and another was in custody, according to WSVN, Channel 7. Investigators say they're not looking for any other suspects.
"We're asking for the community's prayers, not only for the officer injured for but the family of the one who was killed,'' said Commander Nancy Perez, who broke down when she announced the news shortly before 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
Details were sketchy, but a shooting erupted between suspects and police at a home in Northwest Seventh Avenue and 69th Street.
The Miami-Dade female officer was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital where she was undergoing surgery. t was reported on WSVN Channel 7 that she was in critical condition with a wound to the head. The male officer died at the scene.
Authorities shut down traffic on Interstate-95, as several other suspects reportedly fled the scene." -- Via Miami Herald
