Over half of Verizon smartphone users will switch to Verizon iPhone -
A poll released February 3rdby USamp polled 700+ Verizon smartphone users, users using Android and Blackberry devices, and found that 54% were ‘somewhat’ likely to switch to the Verizon iPhone.
If you look at the fine details it looks like 66% of Blackberry users and 44% of Android users plan to switch over to the iPhone. When you add in that 26% of AT&T users have stated that they will switch to the Verizon iPhone you are looking at a great sales day for Verizon.
There’s a few reasons cited as to why users may not be switching to the iPhone immediately. The top two reasons Verizon’s current smartphone users do not plan to give up their androids or BlackBerrys in favor of the iPhone: conversion costs (46 percent) and the keyboard (34 percent). Other reasons not to switch included functions such as e-mail and messaging (23 percent), maps and gpS (23 percent), customization and widgets (20 percent), web browser (19 percent) and, for BlackBerry users, BlackBerry messenger (28 percent).
