ARMED WIFE WAITS IN THE CLOSET TO ATTACK HUSBAND'S MISTRESS!

An armed jilted Middletown woman was in police custody Monday after authorities say she plotted to cause a disturbance at the Peekskill condominium of her husband's alleged mistress.

According to Peekskill Police, Lizbeth Hernandez, 47, was busted after she was spotted by neighbors breaking a window and climbing into a condo at the Woods III complex at around 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Investigators believe Hernandez had followed her husband to the residence.

Responding police officers later discovered Hernandez hiding inside a closet at the home owned by a woman said to be her husband's mistress. Officers found several items in the suspect's possession including a large carving knife, duct tape and surgical gloves.

Witness accounts also claim that Hernandez lurked outside the complex, waiting for her husband and his girlfriend to leave the residence before she broke in, police said.

Investigators believe the woman planned on waiting for the pair to arrive home before revealing herself from the closet where she hid in a corner covered in clothing. An investigation determined that fast-acting witnesses and responding officers prevented a serious and violent incident from happening.

Hernandez is being held without bail on charges of burglary and criminal mischief.
