pix11.com -"NEW YORK (Reuters) - Four people were killed on Sunday when their pleasure boat rammed into a concrete footing and partially sank in shallow waters in the Hudson River in New York, while two others scrambled to safety and survived, police said.

"It was a huge, terrible collision. Even though the boat is in one piece, they destroyed the front of the boat," Lt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's office said.

Watterson said the boat, a 19-foot Chris Craft bowrider, was only 10-15 yards from shore when the accident happened.

Police said they found beer bottles at the scene and were looking into whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
