A promising college grad from Bayonne is clinging to life this morning, all because of a courageous decision to help a friend in need.

Cops say David Strucinski was beat by a gang of more than a dozen men and women while walking home from the nearby Quick Check store early Sunday morning.

Police are looking for the nine men and four women involved in the fight that put the 22-year-old in a coma.

David's friends are holding a fundraiser with several bands at Bayonne's Polish-American Home on West 22nd Street from 3:30pm Friday until 9 p.m.

Strucinski had just graduated Rutgers University. He was looking for his first job. Instead tonight, those who love him are looking for justice.

Strucinski and two friends left the Quick Check on Broadway in Bayonne around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, when they saw another friend in a confrontation with more than a dozen people. They tried to help.

Friends say David got hit in the back of the head, got knocked out, then kicked around. He's now fighting for his life at Jersey City Medical Center in a coma with severe
head injuries.
