Young Jeezy Brings Out "The Thrones" at the Highline
I don't know it looks like this "Thrones" group thing might be something serious in the making. Can you imagine every time you see or hear Jay Kanye is right there to?!?!?! History in the making......
"Lately, it feels like we judge big rap shows by who shows up, not by who we’re actually there to see. And doing that at last night’s Young Jeezy show at the Highline would be totally worthwhile. Within the first ten minutes we got brief, ecstatic verses from both Jay-Z and Kanye West, and as the night went on Bun B popped in, as did the ubiquitous Fabolous, as did all of The Lox for some reason. It felt like a reminder that Jeezy—who hasn’t released an official album since 2008′s The Recession—is still a hugely popular part of the rap landscape.
Initially billed as a show honoring the release of Jeezy’s Def Jam debut Thug Motivation: 101, the idea was that he’d play the whole record front to back. This was an exhausting, if exciting prospect. In recent years, a whole lot of rappers with solid albums to their names have performed those records in track order. When done right, it emphasizes the big hits and is a reminder of some of the lesser appreciated album tracks"- read more - via The Fader

Wiz Goes Down On Amber Rose On Stage... Kanye Sends Hate Via Twitter (video)
Really Yee??? Or is this another rumor by word of mouth????
"Word is buzzing around the internet that Kanye West recently deleted a shady tweet aimed at former girlfriend Amber Rose and her new boyfriend Wiz Khalifa.
This is what Ye’ allegedly said:
"When he's eating her p*ssy, he's tasting the whole of Hip-Hop. #SuckerForLove," West reportedlytweeted at 2:21 PM July 20th via Web. (Kanye West's Twitter)
And of course, this tweet didn’t last vary long on twitter as rumors say that Kanye quickly backtracked his words after posting it. The tweet comes a few days after pics began floating online of Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose getting freaky onstage during a concert." read more - via TheRundow.TV
NEW MUSIC!!!!: Jay-Z & Kanye West "OTIS"
This album is gonna be bananas!!!!
"Another track from the highly-anticipated new joint project from Jay-Z & Kanye West has sprouted up online.
'Otis' is heavy on the sampling of the late Otis Reddings' 1966 tune 'Try A Little Tenderness'. So much so, in fact, that the track names Otis in the feature credits." - read more - via ABC

BIG DEAL FOR KANYE WEST & G.O.O.D MUSIC ... DEF JAM??
Rapper Kanye West continues his business affiliation with the Island Def Jam Music Group, as his imprint G.O.O.D. Music has inked a worldwide, long-term deal with the major label. The first release under the new agreement will be Big Sean's highly anticipated debut, Finally Famous, which features the award-winning hit single “My Last,” featuring R&B singer Chris
Brown. "G.O.O.D. Music is an exciting new chapter in the long and successful association of Kanye West and Island Def Jam," said Island Def Jam's current CEO, Barry Weiss, who left Jive to take over as CEO at the label in March of 2007. "As a recording artist and a producer over the past eight years, there is no one who has made a greater impression on the game than Kanye," Weiss said. "We look forward to working closely with the new and established artists that he will be bringing to G.O.O.D. Music, which is already off to an impressive start with Big Sean." Kanye West has been labeled “an integral core" artist on the Island Def Jam Music Group, having sold over 20 million records since his debut in 2004, with the critically acclaimed album The College Dropout.

Kanye West x Bob Dylan Infographic Mashup
"The works of Kanye West and Bob Dylan might seem like complete opposites at first glance. But using corpus linguistics, we can draw comparisons between artists across eras and genres. Take a journey through the language that both artists use in the infographic below, which looks at Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010) and Dylan’s Highway 61 Revisited (1965)." SOURCE

Kid Cudi Ends Relationship with Music Label
Kid Cudi has decided to part ways with his Record Label Dream On, who he's recorded for since 2009. In a recent extended Twitter post he confirms the broken relationship and also confirms that he is still on good terms with Kanye West's G.O.O.D Music Label. See the actual post below...
Here's what he said:
Here's what he said:
“Pat and Emile are doing their own thing, i wish them well. I have a diff vision, for music, for the world. im just doing the right thing, i come from a different place. people lose sight of the mission. cant expect everyone to be built like me. when people have different visions, you gotta go your own way. Dream on is over, new label announcement soon. always f—-n with yeezy, for life. period. a true friend. GOOD music affiliate for life.As far as my movement, i have to lead it. cant expect people to have the same morals as me … i am still with GOOD music, with that being said im just changin my side of things up a bit. so it will be ?/GOOD. Still distributed through Motown. the jams will be the same, but more real and true to me. the new label will be formed with @DotDaGenius. i have a new name [for the label], i just wanna lock it in contractually first. this is a day to rejoice, this isnt bad news. things are gonna be so epic, im like a kid on xmas eve im so excited bout this new chapter.”

DID JAYZ DISS LIL WAYNE AND BABY ON THE NEW SINGLE H.A.M?
On the track, released on Kanye’s Facebook page early Tuesday morning, Jay-Z complains that his competitors merely fantasize about what he does on a daily basis — including, but not limited to, schmoozing with Warren Buffet and Steve Forbes. He also cites this writer’s $450 valuation of his personal net worth, rounding up slightly to “half a billie,” before taking a shot at a fellow Hip-Hop Cash King or two: “Really, you got baby money.”
The line is a double entendre meant both as a general reference to the small amount of money that other rappers have in comparison to Jay-Z, and as a specific a reference to the wealth of rapper Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter, also known as “Weezy Baby,” and fellow New Orleans rapper and record executive Brian “Birdman” Williams, also known as “Baby.” -forbes Magazine

LEGENDARY QUINCY JONES DISSES KANYE WEST!!!

(courtesy of AHH STAFF/ ALLHIPHOP.COM) Legendary producer Quincy Jones made headlines around the world last week, when he dismissed a comparison to Kanye West as a producer.
Jones made the controversial statements during an interview with US Weekly last week, when the magazine said that Kanye West was similar to Jones due to the fact that everyone wants to work with the Hip-Hop producer.
"Did he write for a symphony orchestra? Does he write for a jazz orchestra? Come on, man. He's just a rapper," Quincy Jones said when being compared to Kanye West. "There's no comparison. I'm not putting him down or making a judgement or anything, but we come from two different sides of the planet. I spent 28 years learning my first skill. I don't rap. It's not the same thing. A producer has to have some sort of skills that enable him to be a producer. It's totally different to know what to do with 16 woodwinds you know from piccolos down to bass clarinet. It's a whole different mindset. No comparison. None….I don't think about him much. He's a great rapper, but there are a lot of good rappers."
Did Quincy Jones go too far in his assessment of Kanye West?
For the record, Quincy Jones denied he was bashing Kanye West and said he thought of the rapper/producer as a "little brother."
Super producer Just Blaze has also been behind some of the decade's most memorable Hip-Hop records.

NICKI MINAJ SALES 375,000 THE FIRST WEEK!!... CONGRATS!!

(COURTESY OF ALLHIPHOP.COM)
As predicted last week the top two artists are Kanye West and Nicki Minaj. The two have given a pretty big sales boost for the slumping record industry.
Kanye West and his fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy enters the charts this week at number one. The Chicago MC/Producer moves 496,000 copies almost making the half-a-million mark in a week.
He is immediately followed by Nicki Minaj
, whose debut album, Pink Friday, takes the number two spot. Minaj sells 375,000 copies. She also has the second-best sales week for a female hip-hop artists, right behind Lauryn Hill.

Not bad for two albums that were heavily leaked before their release.
Rihanna drops a few spots but remains in the top ten. Her latest album, Loud, lands at number 6 and sells 133,662 copies. That brings the Def Jam
artist’s total sales to 339,680.

Fellow Def Jam singer Ne-Yo also enters the charts this week, moving 117,800 copies of his fourth album, Libra Scale, and taking the number eight spot.
Kid Rock comes in at….wait does Kid Rock still rap? Did he ever rap? I’m skipping him.
Eminem drops from 18 to 23, selling 49,858 copies of his latest album, Recovery. To date the Detroit MC has sold 3,055,678.
Lloyd Banks enters the charts two spots behind Em with his third studio album H.F.N. 2 (The Hunger for More). Banks moves 45,188 copies and claims the 25th spot.
Lil Wayne takes a slight drop, falling from 28 to 30, with his EP I Am Not A Human Being. The 38,509 copies moved by the EP this week brings its total sales to 512,415.
Nelly takes a 27 spot plunge and lands at number 37 with his return-to-the-game album 5.0. This week Nelly moves 28,528 copies bringing his total sales to 90,982.
Kid Cudi also takes a dip, landing at the 38th spot with his sophomore album Man on the Moon 2: The Legend of Mr. Rager. Cudi moves 27,978 copies bringing his total sales to 229,083.
Finally, Jay-Z hits the charts. That’s right Jay-Z. His label released album, the Hits Collection, Vol. 1, enters the charts at number 41, moving 26,044. Twenty six thousand people didn’t already have these Jay-Z songs? Ya’ll needed the hits collection?
Dropping This Week
The Black Eye Peas drop this week. Ya’ll know how I feel about them. They’ll be on the charts next week so I’ll talk about them then. Moving on…..
Soulja Boy drops The DeAndre Way this week. The album features Trey Songz, Lil B,50 Cent, Bei Maejor, and Ester Dean. This album should probably hit the charts next week as well.
Slim Thug releases Tha Thug Show. Slim usually puts out some solid music so fans might want to take a listen to this one. The album features Z-Ro, Rick Ross, Rimidi, Nipsey Hussle, Yo Gotti, Big Chief, Lil Keke, Dallas Blocker, B.o.B, Devin the Dude, J-Dawg, Big K.R.I.T, and Keisa.
That’s it for ChartWatch. See you next week.
