"Concert goers at a Lower East Side rap show are saying cops got rough with them as they left the club early this morning.

People attending the Smif N Wessun and Pete Rock album release party at Tammany Hall and Orchard said they left a fun evening at the music hall to find the entrance surrounded by uniformed cops.

"I went outside to send a text to a friend and already the cops were there," said music photographer Natalie Saidon, 28, of Chelsea.

Saidon said she saw cops forcibly take one man away from the crowd.

"They were dragging one guy around and throwing him against a car and against the trash," said Saidon.

 

Witnesses said that cops sprayed mace into the crowd, hitting Lance Barrett in the right side of his face as he was leaving the club.

"It was chaos. There was no melee inside the club. Everyone was just chilling," said Barrett, 19, of Park Slope.

"This did not have to happen," said Kenneth J. Montgomery, 38, a criminal defense attorney from Brooklyn." Read More - via NYPOST

*NYPD CORRUPTION* BRONX COP TAKES BRIBES IN TICKET-FIXING SCHEME!

THE BRONX, N.Y.(PIX11)— 

A grand jury in the Bronx has launched an investigation into accusations that as many as 40 police officers are up to their necks in a quid pro quo, ticket-fixing scheme.

The Police Benevolent Association has also been placed under the microscope.

Sources told The Daily News that 24 cops made tickets vanished in exchange for gifts, which is a felony. In addition, police are investigating 10 officers for lesser offenses, which include obstructing governmental administration. They're believed to have "lost tickets" that were supposedly "taken care of," law enforcement sources say.

And according to public reports, at least one department bigwig has been hauled in front of the grand jury, which is reportedly considering larceny and bribery charges.

The NYPD, PBA and the Bronx District Attorney's Office are being tight-lipped, and aren't commenting on the scandal.

But, prosecutors are reportedly playing hardball in order to get past the infamous "blue wall of silence" that cops throw up to protect each other in situations like this.

Sources say a PBA official got an unexpected house call Wednesday, from an assistant district attorney and a NYPD Internal Affairs investigator pressured him to turn informant.

The probe began in September 2010 when IA investigators pulled summons records from all 12 Bronx precincts. They stumbled on the scheme when they were looking into a union delegate suspected of having ties to a drug dealer. That's when they reportedly heard a cop -- via wire tap -- asking the delegate to fix a ticket for him; that officer is now on modified duty.

In the not-too-distant past, it was common place for cops to extend a professional courtesy to a fellow officer, when a family member or friend got ticketed -- but not anymore.

The DA's investigation took place between August 2009 through June 2010, when the department installed a system allowing each summons to be tracked electronically, making it next to impossible to make a ticket disappear once it's written.

As the embattled actor prepares to take the stage at Radio City Music Hall for his sold-out, one-man show "Violent Torpedo of Truth," NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly says his men will be waiting in the wings.

"We have a big police force, we're ready for him," Kelly told a throng of reporters Friday.

The last time Sheen was in the Big Apple, he left a hotel room at the Plaza Hotel in shambles following an alleged drug-fueled night of sex with a porn star, which later provided salacious headlines for several months thereafter.

Many say it was that night in October 2010 that sparked a downward spiral for the star which ultimately cost him his cushy job on the CBS hit show "Two and a Half Men."

Team Sheen, accompanying "goddesses" included, arrived to New York Thursday and reportedly set up shop in a block of rooms at the Trump International Hotel in Midtown. According to reports, Donald Trump opened the hotel's doors to Sheen after every hotel in New York refused to grant the actor a weekend stay.

Although Sheen's Radio City show initially sold out after going on sale, some tickets are being re-sold significantly under face value.

When asked if he will be attending the show this weekend, Kelly didn't beat around the bush.

"I don't think so," he said.

*HATE CRIME* 26 YEAR OLD MAN BEAT FOR WEARING PINK!

GREENWICH VILLAGE (PIX11)— 

Authorities have released surveillance video of a 26-year-old man being brutally attacked outside a Greenwich Village McDonald's, and they are calling the beating a hate crime.

According to police, Damian Furtch was attacked by two Hispanic men who laid eyes on the victim when he was dining with a friend inside the fast food restaurant on Sixth Avenue near West 3rd Street at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

What started out as a verbal attack inside the eatery, escalated to a vicious beating outside when the two suspects proceeded to lash out at Furtch with fists and anti-gay slurs, police said.

Furtch was transported to Roosevelt Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

Furtch later took to his Facebook page where he posted shocking photos of his injuries, which included two severe black eyes and a cut to his nose. He also posted a candid message about the disturbing attack.

"I thought I was safe in the city I loved but apparently wearing fluorescent colored clothing and pink shoelaces really bother some f***ing a**holes to blind side me and hit me," he wrote.

The attack has stunned many in the neighborhood and prompted community activists including City Council Speaker Christine Quinn to pass out flyers Wednesday, alerting residents about the crime.

As police still search for the two suspects, investigators hope that surveillance video will shed some light on their identities.

Cops say both of the suspects are 18- to 20-year-old Hispanic men. One of them is about 5-feet 8-inches tall and 150-pounds. He has a tatoo of a cross on his left cheekbone, under the eye.

No further details were given about the second suspect's appearance. Police say the suspects were accompanied by two Hispanic women.

"A Harlem woman and her boyfriend are suing the NYPD for $24 million, claiming that officers beat her with billy clubs, broke her nose and arrested the pair after she tried to film cops busting a man.

Hope Gonzalez, 30, says she and her boyfriend, Pedro Gomez, 37, were shopping Oct. 14, 2009, when they saw a young man being "abused" by several police officers on Riverside Drive at West 158th Street.
