FAMOUS PIZZA MAKER OF "LUCALI" MARK IACONO WAS STABBED!




CARROLL GARDENS, NY (PIX11) -- 43-year-old Carroll Gardens restaurant darling Mark Iacono is recovering from surgery Friday after being stabbed repeatedly just blocks from his popular pizzeria, Lucali.
Iacono, father of a young daughter, was walking on Smith Street when he was became involved in a dispute with Benny Geritano. Reports say that, suddenly, Geritano drew a knife and began slashing Iacono on the face, chest, back and legs. 
"Oh no that's awful, just awful," exclaimed faithful customers Alison Graves and Annie Carvahlo.
"He's a wonderful father and this is just tragic. All that matters is he recovers," said Scott Graves, a regular Lucali diner.
Iacono's wildly popular Lucali got named best pizza in Zagat's, and the successful restaurateur was planning on opening up a restaurant in Manhattan.
Iacono has now undergone surgery and is in stable condition.
Geritano drove himself to Long Island College Hospital and was shortly after taken into police custody. Charges are pending.
