*VIOLENCE* CAB DRIVER SHOT IN THE HEAD REMAINS IN CRITICAL CONDITION

BRONX, NY (PIX11)— 

In a brutal midday attack, a cab driver was shot in the neck Thursday afternoon in the Bronx.

The suspect, identified only as a 29-year-old black male, shot 64-year-old Julio Lora in what appears to be an attempted robbery.

The cab careened into a bus stop and the suspect got out of the car and then tried to rob a woman on the street.

Bystanders intervened, wrestling the man to the ground and holding him until police arrived.

The driver is now at Lincoln Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
