"Arnold Schwarzenegger confessed having a love child only after the mother threatened to go public with details of the steamy affair, it was reported Wednesday.

With his decade-old secret about to come to light, the former California governor and action star revealed the child's existence to his wife, Maria Shriver.

The bombshell revelation came after Schwarzenegger had a blow-up with the mother of his love child - identified in reports as 50-year-old housekeeper Mildred "Patty" Baena.

"She admitted to friends how she finally wanted to tell the secret - that she had kept faithfully for 14 years - to the world," a confidante of Baena told Radaronline.com and Star Magazine.

The threat led Schwarzenegger to fire Baena. He then told Shriver, and the two announced their separation shortly afterwards.

Schwarzenegger publicly revealed the bombshell betrayal in a statement Tuesday.

"After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago," he said. "I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry."

BOOOO: Newt Gingrich Announces Presidential Run

"Newt Gingrich's Republican allies from his days as House speaker welcomed the news Monday that he plans to formally launch his presidential campaign Wednesday.

Former Louisiana representative Bob Livingston, who was to succeed Gingrich as speaker in 1998, said that Gingrich would be an exciting addition to the field and that he would likely support the Georgia Republican.

"Will he immediately unify everybody in the country? Probably not," Livingston said. "But I think that he's got a better understanding of some of the deeper issues that affect the country than most candidates do, and for that reason, I think it's a good idea that he's running."

Gingrich plans to announce his candidacy via Facebook and Twitter, according to spokesman Rick Tyler. Gingrich will follow those social media announcements with an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity on Wednesday night, a speech at the Georgia Republican Party Convention on Friday and an appearance on NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday.

He will have to overcome several hurdles in order to clinch the nomination — including concerns that social conservatives in the GOP have about his infidelity in two previous marriages." Read More - via USA Today

Indiana Governor Vows to Block Federal Funds for Planned Parenthood

"Indiana's governor said Friday he will sign a bill restricting abortions and making Indiana the first state to cut government funding for a well-known organization that provides abortions and other medical care.

The move by Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels was likely to beef up his credentials among social conservatives as he considers whether to run for president.

Daniels said he supported the abortion restrictions from the outset and that the provision added to defund Planned Parenthood did not change his mind. He said women's health, family planning and other services will remain available.

"The principle involved commands the support of an overwhelming majority of Hoosiers," Daniels said in a statement announcing his intention to sign the bill when it arrives on his desk in about a week.

Planned Parenthood of Indiana said in a statement it would file an injunction to "try to halt this alarming erosion of public health policy in our state. Organization president Betty Cockrum said Daniels' decision to sign the bill was unconscionable and unspeakable.

"We will now suffer the consequences of lawmakers who have no regard for fact-based decision making and sound public health policy," she said." Full Article - via Associated Press

"Sarah Palin has obtained a new restraining order against the stalker who's been terrorizing her family after the man allegedly made several disturbing threats ... including raping Sarah's daughter. A judge in Anchorage made the new TRO official last week -- after Sarah claimed 19-year-old Shawn Christy had become more "brazen" in his threats to harm Sarah and her family ... and even rape her daughter.

It's unclear which daughter Sarah was referring to in the legal docs -- but she later mentions that the stalker targeted Willow in his threats and it "bothered [her] tremendously."

It doesn't end there either -- according to the docs, Shawn phoned Sarah's house calling her a "slut or whore" ... and Sarah's dad claims the family was so spooked they "made sure we armed ourselves."
