EMINEM MAKES HISTORY WITH HIS RECOVERY ALBUM!!

VLADTV.COM- "Rapper Eminem has become the first artist to sell 1,000,000 digital copies of an album in the US. His 2010 album Recovery surpassed the million mark, breaking all previous records for digital sales.
Em is no stranger to achieving album sales history - his recent Hell: The Sequel collabo with Royce Da 5'9 marked the first time an artist achieved two No. 1 albums within a 12-month period in the last five years.
"We are thrilled to congratulate Eminem on the history-making digital sales success ofRecovery," says Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg. "Over the years we've made a concerted effort to engage Em's online fan base so this achievement is especially rewarding. Eminem made an amazing album with Recovery and the fans responded in record numbers."

Politics as Usual???: Eminem’s “Letter To Detroit”

Hold on Detroit!!! Help is on the way!!! Could this be an early preview of a politically driven Marshall? If Reagan was president and Arnold is governor..... I don't see why Em can't eventually hold an office. Detroit, this man obviously loves his city and the people that make up The Motor City. In the coming decade when you see this man take that step.......VOTE!!!

EMINEM'S DISSES JAYZ AND KANYE WEST!!!!! DISS TRACK EMERGES!

Oh, and Em lays it ALL out on the track…

The newly leaked track features the Detroit rapper spitting over 50 Cent’s “I Get Money,” and is assumed to be from 2007, as Hip Hop Blog reports.

"They keep on saying the same rappers are the best / Jay-Z and Kanye West," he rhymes. "Maybe they're just trying to distract you from the fact that I'm coming back / Or maybe it's cause I ain't black / Maybe it's because of that / Maybe it's because I'm the highest selling artist in rap."

All the more reason for Yeezy and Jigga to watch the throne!

EMINEM DOESNT THINK HE WILL WIN TONIGHT AT THE GRAMMY'S

COURTESY OF VLADTV.COM- Eminem definitely redeemed himself this year with smashes like "No Love," but how confident is he in winning tonight?

With 10 Grammy nominations, Marshall Mathers leads all artists but according to Shady Records' Artist Royce Da 5'9, he doesn't expect to win.

"He doesn't think he's gonna win anything. He wouldn't bet me, though. But I think he honestly thinks he's not gonna win. Which I think is ridiculous -- I think he's gonna win."

Would you bet against "Not Afraid," "Airplanes Part II," and "Love The Way You Lie"?

Me Neither.

SHADY, AFTERMATH, AND G-UNIT GETS SUED OVER "I GET MONEY"

(COURTESY OF AllHipHop News) Rap star 50 Cent has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by an aspiring rap artist from Atlanta, Georgia, who claims he owns the original license for the beat to the rapper's biggest hit single, "I Get Money."

Tyrone "Caliber" Simmons, 28, claims he purchased an exclusive license for all the rights to use, record, publish, re-produce and perform the "I Get Money" instrumental beat, which was produced by William "Apex" Stanberry.

The lawsuit, which was filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York, claims that 50 Cent, Aftermath Entertainment, G-Unit and Shady Records knowingly infringed upon his instrumental track, which was included on 50 Cent's third album The Massacre.

"The misappropriation of copyright-protected material is an endemic problem in the music business, and particularly in the genre of hip-hop/rap  This is one such case," said Louis D. Tambaro, an attorney at Red Bank, N.J.-based Marks & Klein, LLP, one of the firms representing Simmons. "Our client was granted exclusive rights to the 'I Get Money' instrumental and was unceremoniously cut out of the loop when the defendants realized they had a huge hit on their hands."

"I Get Money" also spawned a variety of remixes, including a popular "Forbes 1-2-3 Billionaire Remix" featuring Jay-Z, Sean "Diddy" Combs and 50 Cent.

"This type of infringement is simply not fair and will not be tolerated," added Kevin B. Legreide, an attorney at Legreide & Ceres, Toms River, N.J., which also represents Simmons.

EMINEM SET TO STAR IN THE NEW MOVIE "SOUTHPAW"

(COURTESY OF ROMAN WOLFE OF AllHipHop News) Rap star Eminem has successfully returned to the music industry with the year's bestselling release and now the 38-year-old has set his sights on the big screen, with a major role in the movie Southpaw.

Southpaw is being developed for Eminem and will feature the rap star playing a welterweight boxer who earns the title, but suffers from personal tragedy.

The boxer must then fight his way back to the top and when the affections of his young daughter and according to published reports, the movie is being described as a continuation of his hit 2002 movie 8 Mile.

Most of the script, which will be drafted by February, will be loosely based onEminem's own life and music, according to Deadline.com.

Southpaw is being penned by Kurt Sutter, the creator of FX's hit series Sons of Anarchyand will be distributed into theaters by Dreamworks.

"I took meetings with Marshall's producing partners over the past 7 years, looking for something to do together," Sutter told Deadline.com. "I know he's very selective and doesn't do a lot. But he shared so much of his personal struggle in this raw and very honest album, one that I connected with on a lot of levels. He is very interested in theboxing genre, and it seemed like an apt metaphor, because his own life has been a brawl."

According to Sutter, the movie will be a metaphorical narrative of the "second chapter" of Eminem's life.

"At its core, this is a retelling of his struggles over the last five years of his life, using the boxing analogy," Sutter continued. "I love that the title refers to Marshall being a lefty, which is to boxing what a white rapper is to Hip-Hop; dangerous, unwanted and completely unorthodox. It's a much harder road for a southpaw than a right handed boxer."

EMINEM REJECTED THE OFFER TO WORK WITH NICKI MINAJ

The track had long been in the works, she revealed. Swizz Beatz produced the number, and she held onto the track for months. The Queens femcee sent Eminemanother record first in hopes of soliciting a collaboration with the Detroit superstar. "We went out on a whim and put it in the air like, 'It'd be great if he would collaborate with us,' " Nicki Minaj said. "I remember I kept talking about it, and I thought, 'It can't hurt.' I sent him one record, and he didn't love it. He didn't say, 'I don't love it'; he just said, 'Can you send me something that's a little more me?' I sent him an e-mail and thanked him for that, just having enough respect. Sometimes people don't respond. He had the respect, at least, to treat me like a peer." Eventually, Nicki revisited the Swizz track and completed the song. She wasn't sure if she wanted a feature on the track, because she thought the song was so good as it stood. After thinking it over, however, she decided to reach out to Em. "He picked up the phone for that one," she said.
